Sunday, June 12, we will be playing The Sidewinder with two of our favorite bands, Alter Der Ruine from Tucson and Nite from Dallas. Also on the bill are locals, Lustron, and our friend DJ Scorpio. Its going to be a great night of synth/noise/dream pop and the final night of Alter Der Ruine’s “Gravity Finds Us All Tour”. Tickets will be available here.

SXSW 2016 Showcasing Artist

2016 marks the first year we are playing South by Southwest as an official showcasing artist. Our showcase is Wednesday, March 16 at the new Voodoo Doughnuts (212 East 6th St.). We play at 11 PM.

Stubb’s and the North Door

We have two exciting shows coming up at venues we have not yet played. The first is next Thursday, August 20 at Stubb’s BBQ with Texas Microphone Massacre. Tickets are $5 in advance and are available from Frontgate Tickets. The second show is the release party for our first vinyl single, “Fever”! We have been waiting all year for this and are happy to announce our special guest, Mr. Kitty. In addition, touring acts Darren Keen and Giant Claw open the show. The “Fever” 7″ Release Show will take place on Thursday, September 17 at The North Door which is a cool space with a huge projection wall. It might be a while until our visuals take up this much space again. Tickets for the release show are $8 in advance and available here.

ALLURE Update

On Thursday, August 14, we will be performing at RAW:Austin presents ALLURE. This is one of the biggest events we have played to date so we’re celebrating by offering a couple of added opportunities.

1. Everyone who purchases tickets before August 14 will be sent a download code for our first album, WORD.
2. Each ticket purchased by 7 PM on Thursday, August 7, will enter the purchaser into a raffle for a physical CD/shirt bundle. The shirt will be the first of a rare batch of glow in the dark logo shirts.
3. If, by 7 PM on Thursday, August 7, at least 20 tickets have been sold through this link or purchasers have specified they are buying a ticket to support The Nimbus, the first 10 ticket purchasers will receive an extra ticket for a friend.

We’re looking forward to this great event of art, music, and fashion and hope to see you there.

RAW:Austin presents ALLURE

The Nimbus is now an official RAW Austin artist. We will be performing at RAW:Austin presents ALLURE at the Belmont on Thursday, August 14. These events present a cross section of the local arts community and as such, the show will include fashion and art, as well as our friends, Dead Love Club. Tickets cost $15 and are available here. We will be sending out WORD digital download codes to everyone who purchases tickets to see us. In addition, if you can’t make it to the show but want to pay it forward and support us in our adventures, you can still purchase a ticket/download (or several) and we can release the ticket to a local friend who can’t afford to buy one. Either way, just be sure to specify that you are supporting The Nimbus in the first drop down menu when purchasing a ticket.

06/15/13 Feathers CD Release

This coming Saturday, June 15, we will be be playing with Fielded and Feathers at Elysium! The show is a CD release party for Feathers’ new album If All Now Here.

It wouldn’t be surprising for either act to follow in the footsteps of Zola Jesus or CHVRCHES; skyrocketing in popularity and acclaim. In March, we played with both of them at Synth by Southwest 4. They were both great. Feathers played several more SXSW shows before opening for Depeche Mode (yes, we were a little jealous) and heading across the pond for a UK tour.

Doors open at 9 and we will be going on first so get there early and stay late. This is an electropop show you wont want to miss! The Facebook event page is here.

03/11/13 Synth By Southwest 4

SXSW is almost here once again. Though we did not get an official showcase, we will be be performing at an unofficial show on March 11. This is the final night of the Interactive Festival and the night before the official Music Festival begins. This will be our second time playing a Synth By Southwest showcase, though the last time was with our previous band, subNatural. As the only band on the bill without an official showcase, this will be the only SXSW show we play and a great opportunity to also catch some really cool official showcasing bands without having to wait in long lines.

The show takes place at Elysium. We play at 8 PM. The cost is $5 (or free with a SXSW wristband or badge) and the bill also includes Fielded, Exit, Missions, and Feathers, as well as DJ Scorpio between bands.

This Saturday, February 2, we will be celebrating M’s birthday and the release of Exit‘s new CD, ‘The Blind Alley’ (for which M did cover art). The show is happening at the Red Eyed Fly in Austin, TX. There is an event page here. We play at 11:30, followed by Exit. Also on the bill is Rescue Mission, Echo Over Voices, and A Sky Jet Black.

We will also have merch which is currently only available at shows.
