Happy New Year! Our first show of 2014 takes place Friday, January 3 for Free Week at Elysium. The lineup includes our friends Lucid Dementia, Dead Love Club, and Bloody Knives. Our set will feature lights by Jessica Rabbet and lasers by JDS Lasers. Doors open at 8, live music starts at 9, and we play at 1.

On Saturday, August 31, we will finally be playing at Oak Hills Tavern in San Antonio. This is our first show outside of Austin! We were scheduled to play there several months ago but unfortunately, we had to cancel due to other obligations. Also on the bill is our friend John Brown’s new project, Dawn of the Phoenix, and Suessie Asmodeus. For more info, visit the Facebook event page.

On Friday, July 19th, we will be providing local support for oOoOO at Empire Control Room in Austin. We are very excited about this show for at least three reasons.
The first being that the new oOoOO album, Without Your Love, is one of our favorites of 2013; along with the new albums from Tricky and Feathers. Without abandoning the dark atmospheres of the previous EPs, oOoOO has managed to polish his sound into something more accessible. These songs are what radio friendly modern pop music might sound like if it weren’t for the decaying corpse of the old world record industry still interfering.
The second reason being that we had to audition. It seems like bands auditioning for a show is a thing of music business history and it would have been easy enough to have a bad attitude and refuse but we stand behind what we do, it means a lot to us, and therefore, why not take the opportunity to set up and play a short set (and in this case, an encore that lasted longer than our intended set). Our thanks to everyone involved. It was fun!
And the third reason… well, thats maybe easier teased.

06/15/13 Feathers CD Release

This coming Saturday, June 15, we will be be playing with Fielded and Feathers at Elysium! The show is a CD release party for Feathers’ new album If All Now Here.
It wouldn’t be surprising for either act to follow in the footsteps of Zola Jesus or CHVRCHES; skyrocketing in popularity and acclaim. In March, we played with both of them at Synth by Southwest 4. They were both great. Feathers played several more SXSW shows before opening for Depeche Mode (yes, we were a little jealous) and heading across the pond for a UK tour.

SXSW is almost here once again. Though we did not get an official showcase, we will be be performing at an unofficial show on March 11. This is the final night of the Interactive Festival and the night before the official Music Festival begins. This will be our second time playing a Synth By Southwest showcase, though the last time was with our previous band, subNatural. As the only band on the bill without an official showcase, this will be the only SXSW show we play and a great opportunity to also catch some really cool official showcasing bands without having to wait in long lines.
The show takes place at Elysium. We play at 8 PM. The cost is $5 (or free with a SXSW wristband or badge) and the bill also includes Fielded, Exit, Missions, and Feathers, as well as DJ Scorpio between bands.

This Saturday, February 2, we will be celebrating M’s birthday and the release of Exit‘s new CD, ‘The Blind Alley’ (for which M did cover art). The show is happening at the Red Eyed Fly in Austin, TX. There is an event page here. We play at 11:30, followed by Exit. Also on the bill is Rescue Mission, Echo Over Voices, and A Sky Jet Black.
We will also have merch which is currently only available at shows.

In celebration of RitchN’s birthday, the Red Eyed Fly presents a special show in the lounge. The Nimbus will be performing two sets; a set of cover songs at 10, followed by a set of original songs at 11.
“A set of covers?!” you ask… Why yes, a whole set of covers by artists that have influenced us or made us dance at some point or another (even if it was in the shower or on the bed at the Motel 6). You won’t want to miss it because more than likely, you love these songs too.
